Travel Distribution Systems Pty Ltd (TDS) has appointed Avaland Pty Ltd to provide a fully managed services for supplier participation in the ARENA distribution network. The service eleviates the need for a supplier to have access to the ARENA application and maintain their own content for distribution.

Suppliers simply forward their content to Avaland and the input into ARENA is carried out by their staff together with on-going maintenance. The service also provides a supplier with communication options for requested bookings and confirmation.

TDS is now delivering a full mobile interface to the ARENA distribution service. The mobile reservation facility will place travel agents and suppliers at the fore-front of mobile travel technology and offer a unique service to their customers.

Sun Microsystems equipment has been chosen for the server platform to operate ARENA. Sun servers meet the requirements of TDS to ensure the ARENA application is delivered with maximum efficiency, reliability and quick response time. TDS will maintain a close association with Sun Microsystems for the ARENA project.
